UC San Diego

UCSD is well known for their science programs available. The types of programs that are available include Biology, Physical Science, Social Science, and Agricultural Science. In order to be accepted into UCSD, you must a 4.09 GPA and rank among the top ten in your high school graduating class. One of the fun things about this campus is that they hold two festivals each year. The one in the spring is called the Sun God Festival and another in the fall called the Fall Fest.

UC Santa Cruz

Located just above the Pacific Ocean and Monterey Bay, this campus resides on approximately 2,000 acres of forested hills. This campus is known to house the almost extinct Hogwallows. Hogwallows are also called Mima Mounds and they are areas of soil that is 1 – 3 meters in height. These areas of soil mounds only occur in minimal parts of the world. UCSC offers all types of programs such as Psychology, Business Management and The Arts.

UC Irvine

UCI is in the middle of Orange County, California. This campus was built into a circular shape and in the center is Aldrich Park. On the outer edge of the circle, the campus is in more of a suburban area. One fun fact about UCI is that the buildings contain underground tunnels. These tunnels were developed for a safe exit in case there was a student riot. Another interesting thing about UCI is that they allow for students to graduate with a self-developed major by creating their own curriculum.

UC Merced

UC Merced was just recently built four years ago on a cattle ranch in Merced, California. Right next door is Lake Yosemite and two irrigation canals travel right through the campus property. Like Berkeley, Merced is the only other campus that runs per semester. This school is commonly known for their studies in Applied Sciences and Engineering.
